ET News: Tech Readiness Tool Error on Device Meeting Recommended Requirements Report (29 May 2013)

Last week an issue was discovered with the Technology Readiness Tool’s “Device Indicators” report regarding recommended system specifications.  This report provides a school, district or state with the percentage of school devices that meet the recommended system specifications for the Smarter Balanced assessments.  As you know, the reports can be generated for both minimum and recommended requirements.  The report regarding the minimum specifications is correct and does not have an issue.  Meeting 

ET News: Tech Readiness Tool Submission Update (1 May 2013)

AS of May 1, we have 241 schools reporting their data is submitted and completed in the Technology Readiness Tool.  That represents 50% of schools/SAUs.  The graph below reports the percentage complete for all SAUs as of April 15.

However, the graph below gives important data on those 241 schools who have submitted their data as complete.  Only 8 schools have answered all the survey questions, and the overwhelming number of questions left blank was 15! 

ET News: Tech Readiness Tool Update (9 April 2013)

The Technology Readiness Tool has deployed the following changes to the system.

1.       URL to the login page has been added to the create and reset password emails.

2.       A disclaimer has been added to the Device Indicators, Device to Test-Taker Indicators, and Network Indicators reports.

3.       The Legend on the reports no longer shows a gray box for the TBD indicator.

Sorry for the duplicate email. Upon inspection and some notes from our friends in the field, I find I made two errors in this mornings update.  I will apologize and correct them now.

ET News: Update on the Tech Readiness Tool Use ( 30 January 2013)

New Hampshire currently has 41% of schools reporting that their data is 100% submitted.

The tool also shows that every school has missing data.  The minimum missing data is just a single question.  However, many school are missing as many as 15 questions.  In order for the tool to work properly, it is extremely important that all the survey questions, in both the device and school surveys are collected and input into the system.

The tool is still open to editing even though your data is submitted.

On January 14th, several enhancements will be introduced to the Technology Readiness Tool. The following list is a high-level overview of the changes. ET News: Enhancements Announced for Tech Readiness Tool (7 January 2013)

On January 14th, the Technology Readiness Tool will display new enhancements.  Here is a summary of the enhancements/changes to the tool. 

Note: 

In some cases, functionality will be the same, but accessed from different points in the tool.

In some cases, input variable parameters may change and will have to be updated in your data to be accurate with your information.  New choices are available, or a new variable for old choices.

Directions for the management of existing deives in the tool have been uploaded into our NH Resources section.  They are designed  for schools that have already input device data in the Technology Readiness Tool system and would like to edit data fields based on the updated January 14th Device Data Layout. Users can update device data when system modifications are implemented.

There are two ways to complete device information:

1.     Manually enter data through the user interface.
